When you’re always on the go and balancing multiple clients and projects at once, it’s a no-brainer that you need to have some help in your back pocket. Our team has a long list of tools that we leverage to support our work, and we’re sharing our favourites with you!
Carole’s Favourite Tool
Carole, Project Manager, swears by Slack.com. It is the best way to keep up with the day-to-day goings within our virtual team – as a completely virtual company it is important to stay connected! Slack.com is great at keeping all projects and activities separate and organized. Not only does it allow you to have umpteen conversations going on, it also connects to Google Calendar to provide meeting reminders and, if you want, you can have an impromptu video huddle right in the app.
Daynna’s Favourite Tool
Daynna, Senior Social Media Manager, shared that CapCut is her favourite app that she typically uses for client videos. It serves many needs, including looking for a silly meme to post or putting together highlight videos or clips of different products. She uses the premium version because it has a few more features (particularly the stabilizing feature to fix everyone’s shaky hands).
Hollie’s Favourite Tools
Hollie, Founder & CEO, is a huge fan of Planable and FounderPal. Planable is our go-to tool for social media scheduling, client collaboration, and organization – we love how multiple members of our team and our clients can all view and engage with the posts in one place. FounderPal is a fun AI tool that has many different algorithms to help generate ideas for new businesses or marketing plans. We mostly use the Persona Generator feature as a starting point to understand your ideal customer without running 50 interviews so you know exactly how to win their hearts.
Jean’s Favourite Tool
Jean, Brand Service Designer, loves using TourBox and its software because it features a variety of customizable buttons and dials that can be mapped to specific functions in design and video editing software. Jean finds that its ergonomic shape and specifically designed buttons are made perfectly for comfort during long editing sessions. This can help reduce strain on the hands and wrists, making it easier to work for extended periods. Since taking on the role of a designer, a digital artist, a video editor and more, this tool and software have been life changing.
Michael’s Favourite Tool
Michael, Production Coordinator, loves PDFgear. It provides many helpful tools working with PDF, Word, or image files, letting you split and merge PDFs quickly and easily. You can also convert/compress files to a variety of outputs. Michael is particularly fond of the snipping tools, particularly the Windows “Snipping Tool”. This feature makes it easy to cut and move images from online sources/pdfs/etc. quickly and makes it simple to provide visual support to an email or shared document.
Sam’s Favourite Tools
Sam, Social Media Manager, shared two of her favourite tools – Goblin Tools and MyFonts. Goblin Tools is similar to ChatGPT but Sam feels it does a better job writing. Additionally, you can paste an email from a client and it will estimate how long it will take you to complete the task and break it down into a to-do list. You can also leverage it to adjust the tone in emails and write pros and cons lists. MyFonts helps identify fonts and helps avoid using default fonts when designing materials.
Steph’s Favourite Tool
Steph, Social Media Manager, used Monday.com to support keeping projects organized. Monday.com helps streamline workflows and can manage schedules, tasks, and team responsibilities – and so much more! Steph loves how easy it is to use and the way it helps keep track of all tasks and projects across the board.
Our team has a wide range of tools that help us with our projects and just keep us on track in our day-to-day tasks. We hope these help you – please let us know your thoughts if you try any of these tools!
